Frequently asked questions

Is StudVault really free?
Yes — all 5 tools are free for personal academic use. There's no paid tier and no daily usage limit.
Do I have to sign in to use the tools?
Your first try of each tool is free with no sign-in required — go ahead and play with it. After that, signing in (free, with Google) keeps you using StudVault. We use sign-in only to prevent automated abuse, not to charge you. We never sell or share your email.
How accurate is the plagiarism checker?
It compares two texts you provide using n-gram analysis (trigrams + bigrams) and Jaccard similarity. It's perfect for self-checking against a source — but it doesn't crawl the entire web like Turnitin does.
Which citation styles are supported?
APA 7th, MLA 9th, Chicago 17th, Harvard, IEEE, and Vancouver. Paste a DOI or arXiv URL and we auto-fill the metadata via the free CrossRef and arXiv APIs.
Will the AI humaniser bypass detectors like GPTZero?
We don't make that claim. The tool replaces overused AI phrasings with natural alternatives, but no rule-based rewrite is guaranteed to fool every detector. Always disclose AI assistance per your school's policy.
Do you store my essays or input text?
No. All tool processing happens client-side in your browser. We only store your account record (email, name, avatar from Google).
Can I use StudVault on mobile?
Yes — every page is responsive. The interactive verb chips in the AI humaniser also work great on touch devices.
